On January 17, 2024 Amistad partnered with the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association to present the Nassau County 18B Panel in efforts to increase applications from their respective associations. The Administration of NCBA/18B Panel is committed to increasing the diversity on the panel in recognition of the need for cultural competence , diversity in representation and broadening of career opportunities. Over 37 Participants logged to learn about recent changes to the program including a mentorship program and how to apply. Panel members also shared their personal experiences. 

It is the mission of Amistad to increase opportunities for the attorney members.

AMISTAD held a 2 day Pro Bono Clinic with over 10 attorneys and served over 50 residents of Long Island.  On Saturday, January 13, 2024 AMISTAD held their event in collaboration with Assemblywoman Solages at the Elmont Memorial Library. On Monday, January 15, 2024 AMISTAD held its event at the Chuch of God in Christ Prayer Tabernacle in Amityville.

AMISTAD is visited by the NYS Attorney General and addresses concerns regarding the need for diversity in repressentation of litigants on Long Island.

Under the leadership of 2023 President, Kevin Satterfield, and guidance of Co-Executive Diretor, J. Stewart Moore, Esq., AMISTAD issues position statement on Congressional Redistrcting.
